Callum Walker works as a mercenary, carrying out the dangerous jobs assigned to him. Although he doesn’t choose his official targets, he spends his spare time hunting people who harm children. Ryan Fairview runs the town’s funeral home, but his life is far from ordinary. As a mortician, he is used to working with the dead, yet he has a secret few people would believe. Ryan can see spirits, and the dead rarely leave him alone for long.
When Callum breaks into Fairview Funerals to confront him, Ryan quickly realises that his attacker is followed by something unusual. Every person Callum has killed lingers around him as a ghost, creating a constant and unsettling presence.
Despite the violent introduction, Ryan may be the only person capable of helping Callum deal with the ghosts haunting him. Their personalities could not be more different, and the circumstances of their meeting make cooperation difficult. Yet their strange situation forces them together as they try to understand the problem connecting them both.
